We wanted to share with you our experience with one of the companies that we are working with. They just recently acquired our corporate wellness programs and they have already been seeing improvement in their workforce. We’ve deployed Nutritionists, Therapists and held a few seminars already in their workplace and their employees have been very responsive. They are the Tree Surgeon Glasgow. Part of every company’s goals is Employee Welfare and Engagement to avoid attrition and to keep the employees happy and working at their best potential which will in turn make the business more successful. According to www.peoplemanagement.co.uk, there is only 1 in 4 UK businesses that has a wellness program. This is a very low percentage considering there are a lot of businesses in the country. And those that have wellness programs but with very shallow purposes, this is what Ben Willmott, head of public policy in CIPD, said: “Employers who invest in wellbeing need to look at their broader organizational culture first, including leadership, values, and how managers are developed and supported to manage people in the right way. Wellbeing should support this, but if it’s just treated as a bolt-on it wouldn’t be surprising for interventions to be ineffective.” Employers really have to be sincere on implementing this kind of programs or in the end their money will just be wasted.

Wellness Seminar – Employees will be gathered for a 1 to 3-hour seminar on a specified topic selected by Human Resources of the company based on preferred topics of employees and this will be conducted by Wellness Now LLC’s certified health and wellness professionals. This can be simple but very helpful things like “What to eat in the office”, “How to manage stress” or even “How to be healthy”.
Group Fitness Activities – Employees can enroll to different physical activities like Bootcamp, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, Hip Hop Dancing, etc and it will be held inside the office premises. Wellness Now LLC will assign specific coaches and trainers per session.
Nutrition Consultations – Wellness Now LLC can also assign Nutritionists for the company to facilitate the nutrition consultations. Employees can book an appointment if they want to consult about proper diet, meal plans or weight loss tips.
Tobacco Cessation – For employees who wanted to quit smoking, we also have tobacco cessations sessions offered. This session will help encourage them to stop smoking and divert their attention to other better things to do.
Massage Therapy – Wellness Now LLC can deploy massage therapists for the company to which the employees can have a massage at designated times or even during their breaks or lunches.

Stress is one of the major causes of many health problems because it weakens the immune system and degrades our total well-being. As per the latest statistics from the Mental Health Foundation, 74% of UK’s population have felt too much stress in the past year (we’re speaking of Covid days here already), 32% have had suicidal thoughts and 16% of which have tried hurting themselves as a way of releasing stress, tension and overwhelming feelings. Isn’t this heartbreaking?
Nowadays, there have been more stressors in our lives like work, negative people, social media, family and relationship problems and now the pandemic and sometimes it gets too difficult to handle. People are having real difficulties and they don’t know what to do. Here at Wellness Now LLC, it is our outmost responsibility to share what we know about Stress Management.
How you react to stress is what will make the difference. If you respond negatively, it will impact you negatively but if you remain calm and positive, you will feel more confident and believe that you will be able to get through it.
If you can’t talk to anyone, learn to talk to yourself in the most sensible way. Ask yourself questions on how you’re going to handle the issues and weigh the pros and cons. You can even write it down in a piece of paper.
Practice also the positive self talk. Replace the “I can’t” with “I can” and “Here’s what I can do” not what you can’t. Do not focus on what you cannot control, focus on what can be done. Also, writing down things that you are grateful for also helps because you see that you are still blessed despite the hard things that has been happening.
It is important that you still take care of yourself despite stress and the more you have to pay attention to what your mind and body need. What you can do is take a 5-10 minute walk every day and just breathe the fresh air and appreciate the environment and people around you; Eat healthy and whole foods and do not overindulge on sweets, junk food and alcohol and nicotine – this will all just worsen things. Do some physical exercises like jogging or running and meditation exercises. Learn how to do yoga. There are a lot of yoga videos in Youtube that you can follow. You can also treat yourself to a spa weekend. Go out for a nail or hair care. Go have a massage. This will help release all the tension. The bottom line is, always find time to do things that will give you joy.

Proper nutrition is needed by every individual in order to perform daily tasks and live life to the fullest. Pretty sure, almost everyone already know that there is a daily caloric requirement needed per day for every person and this differs based on age, sex and rate of physical activity. But do we really understand how we’re going to achieve it?
Below is a table of daily calorie requirement per age group, male or female, and based on physical activity.
Based on the table, you need more calories as you grow older and generally, males require more calories versus females because of more intense and vigorous daily activities.
Let’s take for example, a 30-year old female, working, with sedentary lifestyle; she needs about 2000 calories per day. How will she successfully achieve this? Here are the four food groups she needs to incorporate in her diet.
Fruits and Vegetables – These are good sources of vitamins and minerals needed by the body to strengthen the immune system against sickness and other diseases. There are the common greens like lettuce, cabbage, broccoli which provide fiber. The orange ones; carrots, squash, pumpkins provide Vitamin A for good eyesight. Yellow ones from banana, mango, pineapple, provide Vitamin C and others like apples, oranges, grapes, cherries are good sources of antioxidants which gives you a healthy skin.
Rice and other cereals – These are the ones that give you energy, maybe rice, bread, cereals, oats, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, pasta etc. These are the ones that make you feel full and get you to thinking and functioning properly.
Protein foods – These are the ones that you need for your bones, skin, for repairing tissues, also good for digestion and body regulation. Most sources are fish, meat and poultry. If you are working out, you have to take more protein in order to build more muscles.
Water – Of course, water is very important even if it does not give you calories. Water is important for hydration, digestion and body temperature regulation. We need water just as much as we need food.
Some would say they already know this stuff but it can be confusing and frustrating at the same time especially if you hate counting calories. Why would you want to count calories when you can just eat everything you want, right?
Wellness Now LLC will make this easier. Part of our programs is the meal plans which we customize based on the individual’s needs and preferences. We have in-house Nutritionists that you can schedule an appointment with, ask questions and request for a meal plan. This could be a 7-day, 14-day, 21-day meal plan or even a month depending on how you want it. All the foods that will be incorporated in the meal plan will be based on your preferences. Like any doctor, the Nutritionist will also ask if you have allergy to specific foods so that it will be avoided. Our Nutritionists can also customize plans incorporating food restrictions if you have high blood pressure and high cholesterol or if you need a low/high fat and low/high protein diet.
